Our contest? Well we have our first loser and we mean that in every sense of the word

10 Aug

We may have mentioned before that we’re internet dog group joiners. If there’s a dog group, we’re probably a part of it. If it’s a discussion board? Heck yes! We’re there.

A totally accurate representation of our Facebook friends.

Most of the time these are good places with good people who really just want to help others and maybe pick up some tricks for themselves along the way. You can find really great advice, tips, tricks, deals, steals and recommendations for trainers, products, clubs etc that can be difficult to acquire on your own without spending a small fortune (Or a large one).

Probably immoral, but genius

There are however pitfalls of these groups, the first and foremost being of course, being sucked into petty arguments over absolutely anything under the sun.

“I don’t care if they’re synonyms! Put down your book of words and blindly follow what I say you *bleep blurp bleep* monkey fister *bleep* scallywag *blurp bleep bloop* atomic Communist!”

These arguments are in a phrase, annoying as shit.

Yes Agnes, they’re really damn annoying.

Really it’s our general annoyance that caused us to make our ‘Don’t be an Asshat’ trick training contest but sometimes, and not as rarely as we would hope, someone goes ahead and pushes an argument to such an extreme it surprises even our cynical little hearts.

We also root for the sun.

Without revealing all the details, after a “Pointless Methodology Argument (TM)“* someone involved in the discussion explained that she had in fact been to <trainer under discussion>. The next day she awoke to a message from someone she inexplicably enraged who wished death upon her dogs… yes you read that correctly.

Our reactions exactly.

This group in general is prone to some melodrama and usually that’s just mildly entertaining/slightly annoying but really? We may be ridiculous bitches, but we don’t make that shit personal. If you make it personal, you’re an asshat.

Yes creepy Facebook jerk. You are an asshat.

You’re basically a leisure suit made out of cravats, Hammer pants and bad life choices.

Whoever did or does that kind of thing really needs to take a minute, pause and reflect on their actions. Personally speaking, there have been some great dogs lost this month. Wishing that kind of pain on anyone is just plain cruel. We’re so incredibly unimpressed.

Great Job.

Think before you hit enter. Karma is a bigger bitch than we are.

This is the kind of crap that made me give up lists. Yeah, there’s some good stuff on them, SOMETIMES, but most of the time it’s just am ef’n stuipid one-up game that serves no one. Wishing death on someone’s dogs goes waaay beyond the usual troll behavior. That’s actually amazingly evil. I hope the list was monitored in some way and the person who did that got removed.

i am a moderator on a RAW group i pretty much try to stay out of the fire and just keep people from threatening to set fire to each others underwear drawers in their sleep. i have either gotten complaints that i moderate to much or to little theres no pleasing the pissy. Whats not cool is when i remove a comment threatening another member only to receive one myself basically along the lines of “i know where you live and i am going to set fire to everything you love, your dog first” <not cool ass hat arsonists .

That’s the kind of curse that will do the rubber/glue thingy.

I’m also an admin on a raw group and while I generally don’t need to step in much, there are times when one person can ruin it for everyone.. Hell I had someone say I was killing my dog because she got kibble for a bit due to finances.. Yes people, they insulted the admin and expected to be allowed to stay on the site….

I would hope that you can track whomever has made the threats and press charges.

It wasn’t a threat. Just a “I hope your dogs die so they don’t have to be around you” type of deal. It wasn’t illegal or threatening, just incredibly icky.

Internet groups are a tricky thing. I’ve been in a variety of groups over the years. Overall, my experiences have been good. There will always be a Dramatic Debbie, a Negative Nancy & a Lying Lester in groups. The last group that I was very active in was great. I even met and became friends IRL with a few members. The group broke up because of a Lying Lester. This ratchet betch lied about her bitch. She apparently felt the need to say that her dogs were from an amazing, show breeder and she was thinking about showing them. As a person that shows in conformation, and can tell the difference between a pet and show animal, I knew she was lying. I chose not to say anything to her, but another member said something. Long story short, she freaked the fuck out, and since she’s the one who started the group, she deleted the group. Not before (empty) threats were made.
I currently follow a group on The FB, and I’m ready to leave. It’s a breed specific group, that is full of absolute fucktards. People post pics of their poorly bred, non-health tested bitches with litters of puppies on the regular. If you say anything less than, “Oh emm gee! They are soooo keyooot!” People get ten kinds of butthurt. There’s no room for trying to even politely educate people. If you mention having a bitch evaluated before being bred, a mod will jump your ass for giving advice where it is not wanted. It’s jus’ plain ignunt.
